Welcome to all my new blog followers and I hope you enjoy reading about my challenge as much as I’m enjoying doing it!
So this week I will be painting an animal or two beginning with D, thanks for the suggestions so far. I’m thinking it will be a Deer, as I’ve not painted one yet and possibly a Dachshund dog. I’ve already done a dolphin and recently sold a Dalmatian dog ACEO but not painted that many different dog breeds.
If you want to challenge me to paint something different, feel free! Please do suggest any businesses connected to animals, whose name begins with D, that I can feature on Friday too.
Here is a photo I took of some deer at Powderham Castle in Devon, included in my 2013 calendar and also a fridge magnet.
The Powderham Deer park is a great place to watch them rutting and the season starts soon in the autumn. The Castle is set in the middle of the deer park, which is home to around 600 fallow deer. Visitors can join a Deer Park Safari and get closer to the amazing wildlife. Powderham Castle Website
There is also a lovely walk alongside the park that takes you right down to the Exe estuary, near Starcross.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a deer park, it’s a lovely photo. I’ve just popped over from the Folksy Forum.
