Experimenting

The difficult thing with painting on glassware is to stop the paint from running. To prevent this I paint in stages letting the paint dry in between but I’m always up for experimenting!

Today I decide to experiment on a chipped bowl, which I can’t sell, and paint quickly without waiting.

With gravity the vertical zebra stripes are generally ok with the odd wobble here and there but it does look messy! However the horizontal striped legs are a different matter but I’m quite liking the running effect for reflections or an abstract piece.

I painted a frog too but he lost an eye, has elongated toes and speckles that grew to blobs! I’ve been meaning to do a frog glass though, so think I’ll stick to the usual way of waiting for the paint to dry before adding more.
